Public Meetings Have Been Scheduled regarding the Whitehurst Freeway Deconstruction Feasibility Study AlternativesThe CAG Meeting on October 16th will feature discussion of the alternatives. DDOT representative, Ken Laden, and the consultant company project manager, Mark Niles, will present an overview of the findings complete with visual representations of the alternatives. Catherine Shaw, chair of the CAG Whitehurst Taskforce, will speak on a survey that has been commissioned by the CAG Board to poll members on their opinions concerning the Whitehurst. This panel will then entertain questions. For two differing opinions on the subject of taking down the Freeway, see articles by Ray Kukulski (for deconstruction) and Walter Groszyk (against deconstruction). The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) has announced that the "Whitehurst Freeway Deconstruction Feasibility Study Alternatives Report" (6.6 MB PDF) has been released, along with Appendix A and Appendix B of the report.
